Chesapeake Grad Dayan Reinoso signed with the Angels

Chesapeake College graduate and baseball player Dayan Reinoso signed a minor league contract with the Los Angeles Angels in early August. Reinoso continued his education and baseball career at Erskine College. "Dayan's work ethic and God given ability has given him this incredible opportunity. Dayan will make an immediate impact to any team he is apart of. He is one of the most humble and respectful young men that I have ever coached and he is deserving of this opportunity," Erskine Head Coach Mark Crocco said. Crocco added that the Angels will give Reinoso a chance to pitch and hit at least during the early stages of his professional career.

Petrin comes to The Shore from NCAA Division II Kentucky Wesleyan where he officially began his college coaching career in 2020 after spending several years in other aspects of the industry.

SU Grad Campbell Places 11th in Olympics

TOKYO – Former Salisbury University track & field star Luke Campbell '16 finished 11th overall in the semifinals of the men's 400-meter hurdles on Day 9 of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. Campbell, who competes for Team Germany, finished fifth in the second semifinal heat with a personal-best time of 48.62 seconds, destroying his previous personal record of 49.19 seconds set in the preliminary rounds of the 400-meter hurdles.
