McCormick Steps Down at North Caroline

McCormick Steps Down at North Caroline

North Caroline High Schools James McCormick announced on Wednesday, January 5th that he is stepping down as head coach of the football team. He has held the head coaching position for 21 years and spent seven years prior to that as an assistant. He also served a year as a football coach at Smyrna High in Delaware. McCormick built quite the program over the years and is well known for his dedication to the Wing T offense. He has seen many of his players play football and extend their education at the next level. His retirement comes one year after his two familiar assistants, Colin Joseph and Jody Ward, retired. Overtime Live selected Kasey Heath from Kent Island as Defence player of the year as well as overall MVP. Kevin O'Conner from Easton was selected as Offence player of the year. Malique Leatherbury from WIHI was selected as special teams player of the year. The coach of the year award was given to Bryon Sofinowski. Congratulations to all these student athletes!

ShoreSportsMD is proud to announce that they will be naming a MVP for each individual fall sport during the Time Out with ShoreSports podcast on Tuesday, December 20. In addition to the individual sports, they will announce a first team all conference for football. The Special teams Player of the year was awarded to Malique Leatherbury from WIHI. The special teams football honors includes students athletes from Parkside, Decatur, and WIHI. The coach of the year was presented to Bryon Sofinowski of Kent Island.

The Offensive player of the year was presented to Queen Annes player, KJ Smothers. The Offensive First team included student athletes from, Easton, Decatur, Kent Island, Queen Annes, Parkside, and WIHI. The coach of the year was presented to Bryon Sofinowski from Kent Island.

Fletcher Commits To Salisbury

Fletcher Commits To Salisbury

Cambridge South Dorchester's Tayon Fletcher has decided to continue his education and football career at Salisbury University. Tayon played running back and linebacker for the Vikings and joins a pretty young Seagull squad led by the legend Sherman Wood. Good luck Tayon!
