North Caroline High Schools James McCormick announced on Wednesday, January 5th that he is stepping down as head coach of the football team. He has held the head coaching position for 21 years and spent seven years prior to that as an assistant. He also served a year as a football coach at Smyrna High in Delaware.
McCormick built quite the program over the years and is well known for his dedication to the Wing T offense. He has seen many of his players play football and extend their education at the next level. His retirement comes one year after his two familiar assistants, Colin Joseph and Jody Ward, retired.
