Mike Bradley's State Championship Pick
Did Mike pick the Bucs? Or did he pick the top seeded Millers from Milford Mill Academy?

2A State Finals-Friday:
#2 Kent Island (12-1) vs. #1 Milford Mill (13-0)-4pm-I am sure I may get some heat for this but at this point I can't do it. I would rather get criticism than put my analysis hat on for one more week. This is a chance for the Bayside to win a State Title which makes the entire Conference look better. We almost had an all-Bayside Conference matchup last week with Decatur's narrow loss to this very #1 Milford Mill team. This Kent Island bunch is special and has come together to reel off 12 in a row after a rough Week #1 loss to Easton. Head Coach Byron Sofinowski in his return season picked up from whence last year's team left things. The '21 Bucs had an undefeated regular season (led by HC Damien Ferragamo) and lost to eventual 2A Champ Douglass-PG in the playoffs at home. However, this '22 Bucs team only had 4 returning starters. No one thought they would go 8-1, no one thought they would win the 3A/2A Bayside Conference Championship and no one thought they would be the #1 seed in the 2A East and yet they accomplished all that and are on the doorstep of the first ever Football Championship. The school is relatively new having opened their doors in 1998. The last 2A Bayside team to get to the State Title game was Queen Anne's in 2009, they ended up losing to Eastern Vo-Tech out of Baltimore County. FB/LB Kasey Heath deservedly gets a lot of love and attention and he is the epitome of this team. But the offensive line, the backs and receivers that block, the quarterback that leads the offense and the unbelievable defense all deserve attention for getting to this point. How can I possibly pick against the Bucs? Sure it will be a tough task, any team that gets to the Championship game that has won this many contests and endured a month full of playoff games is going to be very good. You have to beat the best to be the best and KI has that chance this afternoon. The heart and toughness of the Bayside may be underestimated by others but we know it's there. We have seen it for 13 weeks. No one is going to tell Kent Island that they can't win this game including me. They won't make it easy for the Millers. The Bucs will play Kent Island football and it will either be good enough or it won't but at this point I can't pick against the Bucs. I care more about them winning than saying they won't. This band of brothers gets as close a home game tomorrow as you can get. For those that can't make the game the rumble at about 6:30pm coming across the Chesapeake will be one of a victorious Kent Island Buccaneers squad!...This is our Overtime Live-Preston Ford "Friday Night Lights Game of the Week" on 94-3 WINX-FM, forevermidshore.com and the Forever Radio App
